American Arrowhead
Going a little graphic here yet painterly. This watercolor shows some of my work while I was fascinated with arrowheads and gemstones. I would love to do a whole series of paintings of both really BIG! Super-imposing the American flag on this provokes strong reactions from everybody. People are not neutral with their opinion but they tend to have assumptions based on personal beliefs, which I have found fascinating. If you are "LEFT" than it's America as a warring society. If you are "RIGHT" than it's America as a strong, protective society. It's an arrowhead with an American flag on it! Yet it can't just be that can it? Not even with myself.Tuesday, January 19, 2010
Here, I am starting to pay attention...
I am going to actually start paying attention to this Blog that I opened a year ago, and exploring what people have out there through this venue. As well as putting myself out there!

A metaphor for our desires that come from our connection to our bodies. They can be our ruin in how they control us. Our subject seems to have lost a finger already, or maybe it's just folded out of site. Our mind is where we judge what is prudent with our desires. We can give in and let it trap us or is it possible our minds can save us too. The moment is held between both fates.
I saw a young girl on a bus one day and she had set her hair like a bouquet of flowers. she sat looking down as she read a book and she seemed to glow! Her hair was amazing like it was flowering! She was amazing! Calm and composed and beautiful, like a wood spirit or mother nature at a young age, I had to re-create the moment.
